Hope Project

Placed in South Yarra.

An elevated South Yarra residence defined by quiet luxury, refined proportions, and a timeless, considered material palette.

This inner-city South Yarra residence was reimagined as a study in restraint, proportion and quiet luxury. Alesi approached the project with the intention of elevating the home beyond a typical refurbishment—creating a residence that feels architectural, grounded and enduring, while remaining deeply liveable.

Throughout the home, a polished neutral palette sets the tone. Soft beiges, warm stone and muted finishes work in harmony, allowing texture, shadow and light to define each space. Rather than relying on contrast or ornamentation, the design leans into subtle transitions and refined detailing—resulting in interiors that feel calm, balanced and resolved.

Our Detail

A refined inner-city South Yarra residence, elevated through restrained design, polished neutrals and considered materiality.

The kitchen forms a central architectural moment within the South Yarra residence. Anchored by a richly toned stone benchtop and splashback, it introduces depth and presence while remaining disciplined and refined. The stone’s natural veining brings quiet character against understated cabinetry, creating a focal point that feels confident yet timeless. Crisp joinery lines, considered proportions and integrated detailing ensure the space reads as sculptural rather than decorative.

Within the living and dining areas, the home’s original proportions are respected and subtly enhanced. A generous living zone anchors the residence, delivering a sense of permanence often lost in inner-city renovations. Herringbone timber flooring introduces warmth and rhythm underfoot, while refined ceiling detailing softens the contemporary palette—bridging classical restraint with modern liveability.

Our Craft

The bathrooms reflect Alesi’s signature approach to craft and restraint, continuing the home’s cohesive material language. Stone surfaces, fluted cabinetry and softly curved glass elements are executed with precision, resulting in spaces that feel both intimate and quietly luxurious. Every junction, edge and transition is deliberately resolved, underscoring Alesi’s commitment to craftsmanship, longevity and detail-led execution.

Throughout the South Yarra residence, light plays a quiet yet critical role. Soft natural illumination moves gently across surfaces, enhancing texture, form and material depth rather than relying on contrast or colour. This considered interplay creates interiors that feel calm, composed and assured—elevated without excess, refined without rigidity.

This South Yarra project is a clear expression of Alesi’s approach to boutique inner-city work: disciplined design execution, thoughtful material selection and an unwavering focus on detail. The result is a residence that feels timeless, deeply considered and quietly confident—crafted to endure both in quality and character.
